On the 20 May 2024, we celebrated our third IPB Sustainability Awareness Week by organising a number of events to support our employees in understanding more about sustainability and ESG and how we can all make a positive change in our daily lives both at work and at home.  It also provided us with an opportunity to learn more about IPB’s sustainability journey and all the great work our Members are doing on climate action, active travel and biodiversity.  In summary, some our key activities included:

• A panel discussion with some of our Members on ‘Taking Climate Action’, chaired by our Head of Sustainability, Laura Smith
• An employee panel discussion on ‘Sustainability: Making a Difference – through the lens of our work in Underwriting and Investments’, chaired by our Company Secretary, Director of Legal & Sustainability, Evelyn Savage
• Launch of the IPB Mutual Marketplace – a freecycle page for our employees which supports the circular economy
• Updating employees on our GHG emission data and our Sustainability Strategy KPIs as well as an update on our CSRD implementation project
• Provided two volunteering opportunities – Docklands Business Forum clean up and Ringsend & Irishtown TidyTowns clean up
• Garden Gastronomy cookery evening course – to learn how to cook with plant-based ingredients and have zero waste
