ESG Evaluation

IPB Insurance had its ESG Evaluation Score re-assessed by S&P Global Ratings and we are pleased to announce that we have improved our score from 75 to 76.  This is in recognition of the work we have carried over the last 12 months in supporting our Members, our Diversity & Inclusion Programme as well as the publication of our first Sustainability Strategy.

On the 26 August 2022, IPB’s ESG Evaluation Score was revised from 73 to 75. This was based on an improved regional governance score for Ireland.

On the 21 October 2021, IPB achieved an environmental, social and governance (ESG) Evaluation Score of 73/100 with S&P Global. At that time, we recorded the highest score to date of 77/100 in the S&P ESG evaluation process in the social category for financial services companies, which is a testament to our ethos as a mutual and the values we hold dear. This not only recognises our commitment to our Members, but also to the communities they serve.

This score provided IPB with a baseline metric on which to develop our Climate First Sustainability Strategy for 2022 and beyond. As a mutual insurer, our purpose is to safeguard and protect the interests of our Members. Our focus is to support and incentivise our Members to be leaders in implementing climate action initiatives as well as undertaking our own activities in a sustainable way.
